There's something grounding about returning to what works.

Kinwell Roots was born from small, steady shifts toward a more intentional way of living — in our kitchens, in our gardens, and eventually, in our skincare. What began as curiosity became research. Research became formulation. And formulation became something we couldn't keep to ourselves.

We're April and Robin — two women who found ourselves leaning more deeply into the rhythms of nature, whole ingredients, and time-tested practices. As we simplified what we were putting on and in our bodies, skincare was the next natural step. We began rendering and experimenting with grass-fed tallow, botanical infusions, and thoughtfully selected oils — not because it was trendy, but because it made sense.

And it worked.

Why Tallow?

Tallow has been used in traditional skincare for generations. Rendered from grass-fed suet, it is rich in fatty acids that closely resemble the natural oils in our own skin. That compatibility allows it to absorb beautifully — leaving skin feeling supported, soft, and balanced rather than coated or heavy.

We began with a single jar of tallow balm and were surprised by how clean and light it felt. That curiosity led us to render our own suet, infuse botanicals like chamomile and calendula, and refine formulas until the texture and performance felt just right.

From there, Kinwell Roots began to take shape.

Ingredients Chosen with Intention

Every ingredient in our formulations has a purpose.

• Grass-fed suet tallow for nourishment and barrier support
• Jojoba oil to help balance and soften
• Rosehip and sweet almond oils for lightweight hydration
• Shea and cocoa butters for structure and moisture retention
• Beeswax to seal in hydration without clogging
• Botanical infusions like chamomile and calendula for gentle skin comfort
• Essential oils used thoughtfully and within safe limits for both aroma and skin support

We avoid synthetic detergents, unnecessary fillers, and complicated ingredient decks. If it doesn't serve your skin, it doesn't belong in the jar.
